“What should I put on my summer bucket list?” It’s something we all wonder as the mercury rises and the days get longer. However, as the saying goes, the days are long but the weeks are short, and the whole thing will be over before you know it!

How can you make this a summer to remember? CHECK OUT OUR EVENTS CALENDAR

There is no one-size-fits all summer bucket list. Ultimately, the best summer activity is the one that matches your interests and hobbies.

However, we’ve put together a list of some of the most popular summer activities that you can do on your own, as a family, or with a group!

Solo Summer Bucket List

Flying solo this summer? Or simply want some alone time? Whatever the case, we’ve got some ideas to make this the summer of you!

Reading List

Okay, okay, this one can sound a bit like homework. But honestly, what’s better than feeling like you’ve accomplished something without even trying?

Your summer reading list doesn’t have to be super ambitious. Or even ambitious. Pick out 3-5 books you want to read by the pool, at the beach, or on the front porch with a cold drink.

Give your eyes a break from screens (they’ll thank you for it).

Become an Amateur Mixologist

Or a professional one. But that might take up a few more resources than you’re willing to commit in a summer.

Get a cocktail book, a bartender set (you know, cocktail shaker, etc.), and any other supplies. We’ve even got a few recipes of our own! Emerge from your summer sabbatical with a new skill that will make you the life of the party!

Summer Bucket List With Friends

If you’re looking for something to do with the squad, there’s all kinds of things you can do with your BFFs.

Take a Fitness Class Together

There’s nothing like working up a sweat with your bestie. You can encourage each other when things get hard, and hold each other accountable when one or the other just isn’t feeling it that day!

Have a Picnic

What’s better than a good, old-fashioned picnic? Make it a wholesome afternoon out, complete with lawn games, a checkered blanket–the works!

Go Berry Picking

Why should apple picking in the fall get all the attention? Strawberry picking is a perfectly legitimate summer activity you can do in a group.

Then, you have strawberries for days that you can use in desserts, to make into jam, or use as a garnish for drinks!

Family-Friendly Summer Bucket List

Many families are looking for something to do while the kids are out of school. It can be a challenge to fill the long days when there aren’t as many structured activities.

Luckily, there are plenty of fun, inexpensive, and easy things families can do together to make summer a blast!

Cook Together

Teach the kids some kitchen skills while you work together to make something delicious! The kids will love eating a dinner they made themselves with mom or dad. Everyone can find something age-appropriate to do to make dinner time a family activity!

Make an Obstacle Course

Find some items in the garage, basement, or other places around the house and set up an obstacle course. Where? Anywhere!

In the driveway, the living room, the kids’ room. Mom or dad can set up and be the judges, or they can participate themselves. It’s up to you!

Take a Hike

Got a local state or national park nearby? Load up the car and take the family hiking. When it’s hot outside, it’s best to get an early start, which may not be super popular. However, the show put on by the great outdoors at the beginning of the day can’t be beat!

Drive-In Movies

Once the sun goes down, head out to the drive-in! For added fun, let the kids get in their PJs ahead of time and bring blankets and pillows. Watch a movie together under the stars for an experience everyone is sure to love.

You can simulate the drive-in experience closer to home with a white sheet and a projector. Set it up in the driveway or in the backyard for an al fresco family cinematic experience.

Fun for all Ages at Z&M

When you’re putting together your summer bucket list (or your winter, fall, or spring one), make sure you include Z&M in your plans.
